Moving…
Please come visit me at my new blog here….http://jugglingcrazy.wordpress.com/
I have a bazillion things to do today but so far nada. I have gotten the diapers in the dryer and a load of whites in the washer and thats pretty much it. Lexie was up at 6:30 am this morning wanting to play. I was soo hoping that she would go back to sleep but it took a while. I had to lay there and pretend that I was asleep before she finally settled back in. Luckily she slept again until after 10 so I got a little bit of rest. She has been waking so much lately. Has never slept through the night but lately seems like every hour or so she is up again to nurse. It totally sucks, lol. But I keep telling myself “this to shall pass” and since she is *the baby* and will only be a baby once it is another hurdle that we will get through.
So, like I said I have a million things to do. One of those is getting that darn wiki up for school. I’m on summer break and STILL working. Ugh! I need to get it finished though and get the rest of the staff logged on so I can cross it off my list.
I also want to update this blog to the newer version of wordpress. I’m really not sure where I am going from there but I will def. be saving my posts this time. I tried to do that once before and lost my entire blog. Not gonna happen again!
I’m also planning a trip to Kroger/CVS later today. I’m a sucker for good deals and I have a $10/50 CVS coupon that is burning a whole in my pocket,ha! They also have brats and italian sausages on sale at Kroger for $1.99 pack so I’m planning on stocking up on those since we grill a lot. Then I have paperwork of dh’s that needs mailed to the board officce for coaching (that I TOTALLY forgot about, oops!) and I have to get ds’ information mailed out so he can get his replacement social security card. We’ve misplaced the darn thing and the state of WV won’t take the # only…they want the whole kit and kaboodle to get a learners permit. Argh!
So…in order to do that it will entail getting my butt off of here and get in the shower, so with that. I’m out!
MY BABY IS HOME THOUGH! We missed u Emalee!!!
She had a blast at the zoo and the Cupcake Tea Room left much to be desired. But she had a great w/end and that is all that counts right?
Has been busy. The kids have already spent a week away at camp and the baby is crawling up a storm now. I haven’t been able to blog much because I usually have her on my lap either nursing or happily sucking her thumb, lol. I can’t believe that its almost JULY – and Father’s Day is today although we currently have nothing planned. In fact, I’m still sitting here in my jammies!! Haha!
Emalee left yesterday morning to visit Aunt Kate and Uncle Mike in Pittsburg. A delayed birthday pressie from Grandma and Granddaddy. She tries to do something special with each of the kids for their birthdays and since Em’s is in Feb. she chose to wait until now to go. She has already visited the zoo today (but no pictures, boo! since I forgot to send the camera with her and she couldn’t figure out how to operate the camera feature on Kayleigh’s phone). They are also supposed to be visiting the Cupcake Tea Room later.
I have posted BUNCHES of linky love on my sidebar for Thrifty Mom sites. Check em’ out.
And Happy Father’s Day to my love! The best daddy out there!! I heart you!
Well, I still have a couple of orders to put in for fall still but for all intents and purposes, I’m OFF until Aug 21st, Can you say Woot?
In other news, Kay’s soccer team came in 2nd in the state U12 division and soccer is over til’ Sept. The 3 olders are at 4-H camp for the week and my BABY started crawling last Friday,June 5….Where has the time gone? She is literally into everything now and we soooo weren’t ready, lol.
Would post more but I’m typing one fingered cause’ holding a sleeping babe.
Oh and Lexis turned 6 months old on the 24th. Where did the time go? I have some 6 month picts from Greensboro that I’ll need to post.
I should write more…I know that, lol! But we simply haven’t had the time. I barely have time to check my boards and email in the evening after soccer or games. We had a basketball tournament last weekend in Fairmont. Much fun had by all and several tired lil’ girls, lol. Game tonight resulted in Pippy having 3 goals! Go Pippy! Must be the new soccer cleats, ha!
Lex growing like a week she was 17 lb 1 oz @ dr yesterday. Poor baby really sick with pink eye and runny nose. She is feeling much better today tho’ we can tell in her eyes.
Only 15 more days of school this year. Woot!
I’m sitting here on my planning at school (with my feet propped all comfy) thinking that I am soooo glad that it’s the end of the day. The kids were relatively wired today but all the same they were good. Spring Fever has struck them all with a vengeance it would seem. The weather outside is chilly/breezy but gorgeous enough to make the kids daydream out the window if I don’t have the shades drawn, kwim? Lo and behold tho’ school is nearly out – about 30 days left and we are DONE for the year. Still have state testing to get through next month and all but FINISHED is within the sites. I love this class tho’ will miss them all dreadfully next year (well all except K. who is MY KID and in MY CLASS) lol, but maybe I will even miss having her as a student tooooo. if only she didn’t act so much like the middle child that she is – and like her dad….haha.
She tested our of Title I services today because she actually “Took her time” with the testing. Something that I have been telling her all along that she NEEDS to do, but in her obstinate STUBBORN way she refused to do until she was good and ready. Yay for her tho’ – she will be happy when she finds out.
The girls have soccer practice this evening and perhaps S and I will take a walk on the track with the baby in her stroller. E is getting picked up from practice by grandma and the boy has track so we have a busy evening planned.I guess its going to be leftovers for dinner although I may stop in at the grocery and get some more icecream and toppings for dessert. Brownie sundaes with lots of hot fudge and whipped topping sounds uber good right about now.
Tomorrow its “family night” at J & R’s – hopefully the weather will be nice and we can have a BBQ outside. That will be fun! This weekend is supposed to get super hot and pretty. Yay, yay, yay! I am TIRED of winter and the crazy weather that we had this year. It freakin’ snowed yesterday! Blah! My S.A.D was really showing and has been lately since I’ve been unable to take any Zoloft while pregnant/nursing so I put light curtains on the windows, etc. to try and bring the sun indoors.
Hola!
I have much to do today, but its dreary and cold out again and I’m not feeling overly motivated. School is tomorrow and I should be planning for the back to work week but I’m sitting here blogging as I enjoy my first cuppa’ coffee. The baby girl is happily bouncing away in her jumperoo and the boy is upstairs again. He did come down and play with her a bit but disappeared again. She is enthralled by him, lol, he is rarely here always at school and after activities and busy with friends. And a lot of time when he is home he is in his room either doing homework or playing the PS2. Soooo….he appears to her and then disappears again, I think that she is amazed that there is another being of the male species living in this house with us, haha.
Hubs went off to get Bethany who spent the weekend with her friend and took the other girls with him. Thank heavans! Kayleigh had a friend over and is being a butt with Emalee, hence the reason we cannot stand for K to have friends over, lol! Anyway, they will be back soon and we may take Brit home on the way across the mountain to get groceries. A necessary veil I guess, and not one that I want to entertain today but since we have a uber busy week ahead of us with soccer practice and all it must be done.
I did manage to get the diapers in the dyer this morning – I washed them up last night and it was the 2nd hot wash for my new prefolds. Not nearly enough mind you but I want to use them today and see how they hold up. I’m feeling the need to “kick it old school” I guess. We went to a birthday party for my dear friend yesterday and her SIL is pregnant (they live in MD) and Lex had on a cd. Jen was asking about them and was telling me that one of her friends in MD uses cd’s. I thought that was neat since I don’t see/hear about a lot of ppl around here that use cloth. Don’t get me wrong, we have plenty of disposables (sposies) in store for hubs and the sitter, so I’m not akin to using them I just prefer the cloth. Not necessarily because I’m helping the earth – we’re not very good at that, lol, but because I like the softness on my babys bum and the cuteness factor. I can’t wait until this summer when she is crawling around in a little t-shirt and matchy matchy dipe. Oh so cute, ha! I am such a nerd.
Anyway, much to do still – and the coffee cup is now empty- so I will sign off for now. Need to research the best deals at CVS and Kroger this week anyway.
So, I was reading a blog post the other day made by my JM (justmommies) friend Marisa over at Sleep is for the Weak about the age of discovery. So true! So true! I love watching my baby girl find new things. Just now, she sat here on my lap just staring at her wittle’ hand. Turning it to and fro, bending the fingers, etc. It must be so amazing for her to see new things like that and to discover that those appendages actually do belong to her. My oldest dd, Bethany, commented this evening that Lexie immediately grabs her toes as soon as she is “released” from her sleeper. And yes, she does just that…because this is new and exciting for her. The age of discovery if you will. Thanks Marisa for blogging those words. I love it!
Funny thing is, on this very topic. In my 5th grade class the other day we were learning (well the kids were learning, I was teaching, ha!) about the differences between learned and inherited behaviors. Eating being case in point. Lexie is now trying to mimic everything we do when we’re eating. She is enthralled with watching us and seeing what we are doing. It’s crazy! Just tonight she was up on her hands and knees in the crawling position and immediately flopped back on her tummy and resumed “swimming” all the while screaming in frustration because she KNEW that she should have been able to move in the aforementioned position. Poor baby, I just wanted to get down on the floor and show her how to do it.
My kids have all been visual learners so perhaps Lexis will be as well. Back in the day when Matthew was potty learning he just could not get that he was supposed to stand up and pee, being a boy and all yk? Dh tried taking him to the bathroom, etc and he just wasn’t getting it. Wanted to sit on the potty like mommy. It wasn’t until our friends’ son was over for a playdate and had to potty that inspiration struck. James is 10 months older than Matthew and he went right in there and pees with Matt watching. Immediately Matthew decides that he wants to be like his friend and stand up to pee. Maybe it was them both being on the same level (height wise that is)… I dunno, but BOOM he just got it that day and so it went. Learned behaviors…yeah its amazing, eh?
Anyhoo, I’ve rambled much and haven’t really done anything else. Am contemplating going to bed early (for me anyway) and reading for a while.
